Dubstep is alive. Alive and kicking. While you won’t hear too much low-end coming from festival speakers in the States, underground shows the world over still play homage to perhaps the darkest of bass genres. Here with some proof is Perverse, a duo out of Auckland that regularly churns out high-quality broken beat tunes. Aye Aye, dark and brooding, is a solid example.
Daft Punk’s Alive 2007 introduced me to the world of electronic music, and ever since, it’s been a huge part of my life. I’m currently a philosophy student at UCSB, but music and shows are my passion. Thanks to EJ, I hope to share the magic of music with anyone interested.
