ULU, a jazz jam band from New York, made up of Scott Chasolen (Rhodes, clavinet, organ and Moog), Aaron Gardner (tenor sax and flute), Russ Kleiner (drums) and Brian Killeen (bass) has recorded four albums. Their music can probably best be described as funky jazz. Their style of music is very varied however. The jazz-twisted, bouncy beats in I Believe will get you up on your feet dancing. This song varies much from the other songs by ULU. This deep house includes some of the elements of funk that can be found in the other songs. This song is introduced with a very strong beat that holds firm throughout the whole song. The melodies also played throughout have a certain exotic sound to them that lightens the spirit.
I come from a small beach town in Southern California where I grew up with my parents and six siblings. Currently, I am a sophomore studying philosophy at Hillsdale College, Michigan. Along with the tough academics, I enjoy sports and am on the Women’s basketball team. I have always loved music-but my interest really took off when I went to the Lightning in a Bottle festival in CA. I love music and am constantly thankful for all the inspiration I receive when I listen to music.
