Eric Prydz released two new tracks the past week under one of his many monikers, Pryda. As Prydz told Zane Lowe in an interview for the track’s premier on BBC1 radio, the title ‘Lycka’ is Swedish for happy. Prydz’s happiness is clear throughout the over seven minutes of bass-heavy progressive-house goodness, driven by a bass drum that pushes the listener through the song like a manic workout instructor.
Lycka’s b-side, F.A.T. is more of the same, with a hypnotizing synth lead mixed with a heavy, rumbling bass-line. At a time seemingly dominated by trap, it’s refreshing to hear Prydz producing bigger and better tracks in the same vain as his work on “Eric Prydz Presents Pryda.” The song is found exclusively on Beatport.
I work, live and play in Minneapolis.
I try to tell the story of the people that create music and experiences through pictures as well as through words.
