Fresh on my radar is Denver based, rookie producer, Crywolf. Formally known as Justin Taylor Phillips, this classically trained artist has caught my attention with the sheer intensity and emotion emanating from his music. After one listen you can tell that he pours himself into his art, taking his time to orchestrate a deeply sensational and symphonic take on bass music. Think Seven Lions meets Nero. Each track takes you on an emotional journey, riding on uplifting vocals and masterful production techniques to deliver the story. Artists like this are the reason I listen to everything that winds up in my inbox.
Gaining some much deserved recognition, Crywolf has been picked up by Le Castlevania’s imprint, Always Never Recordings, for his debut release: Ghosts EP. The EP dropped earlier this week and is absolutely worth checking out. The preivews, which include a free download are below and you can purchase your copy of the release from iTunes. Make sure you keep an eye on Crywolf, and remember where you heard it first. I see big things for this guy in the future.
Been in Florida my whole life nurturing a love for all beats that break. Never released a track, but I’ve been producing for nearly 15 years and playing out as a DJ for at least 8. I ran Floridub.com on the side (until godaddy stole it form me) and also write for NuSkoolBreaks.co.uk as well as FloridaBreaks.org and Breaksculture.com. You can catch me mixing on the award-winning NSB Radio station every Tuesday night 8-10pm (EST).
