There are a couple of good things that came out of the Mayan “Doomsday” prophecy: For one, the world didn’t end (surprise surprise!), and, like many other themed events/holidays/prophecies, a slew of new “end of the world” themed music has flooded the market. My favorite out of these new apocolyptic-styled tracks is Pretty Light’s “Pretty Lights vs. The End Of The World 2012.” Aptly titled an “apocalyptic hip-hop mashup,” this track incorporates samples from all across the musical spectrum, ranging from REM to The Doors. And, as you would expect, the whole track has the usual electro-funky feel of any normal Pretty Lights track. Make sure to listen to the whole track, the real juicy parts don’t kick in until around 2:45. Enjoy!
