i have a mass amount of music and i was wondering if there was a program i could use for free that would help me organize it by band name, most of them are off CD's but i want to put them all on my flash drive cause its easyer to carry then 4 large CD cases lol.

thanks for your time!
I think Windows Media Player rips titles and band names off the CD when it copies them to your PC, instead of just naming them "Artist - Song 1" etc. When you have a correct ID3 tag for the songs you can use iTunes to sort them by band, album or w/e if you're too lazy to put them into organized folders and just put all the .mp3 files in one big folder.
Teal pretty much hit the nail on the head but I'll add my two cents:

Just download/install iTunes and import all of your CDs. It will automatically organize your music into folders and will also download the album artwork!
I use CDex (http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/) for ripping music from CD, iTunes for everything else. I tried out foobar2000 which everyone raves about, but it wasn't so user friendly with a massive library, so I stuck to iTunes.

Oh, and kid3 (http://kid3.sourceforge.net/), which I swear by, is amazing for mass editing mp3 tags!
