Yeah it has more of an 'anthemic' or ballad feel to it as opposed to their more funky electronic stuff.
hell yeah lotus/sts9 coheadlining should be very tight, ill catch them on 8/14. In my opinion Lotus brings so much more energy and talent to the table but sts9 is still one of my favorites.
I really like Lotus. I'm the IT guy at my work and I set Lotus as our hold music...and Thievery Corp. I haven't seen the disco biscuits live, and they have so many sets out there that I don't know what to listen to first. Anyone have any good disco biscuits album recommendations?
Bonnaroo last year is pretty ridiculous. The nughuffer story is prime.
Wow. I take back what I said about lotus in this thread. I saw them for the 5th time last weekend at All Good and I have never seen them put on a show like this. They added alot more electronic elements to their music and their lighting was off the wall with the lasers. This band is definitely evolving. I still like the Biscuits a tad better live but damn lotus completely melted my face off last Friday. By the way they didn't go on until 2:45 AM which was nuts all in it self....

Were you there 1sttofall? All Good was amazing and Lotus put on one of the best sets by far....

Here's the recording from the show

exactly what i was trying to say in an earlier post. granted the disco biscuits are great and have been for a long time and have a massive fan following, RIGHT NOW lotus is fucking slaying every show they play and i feel as if they are definitely topping other bands in the scene and genre with their new direction. ever since mike greenfield came along his style of drumming has taken the bands sound to a whole new level by itself and with the recent move to let luke (keys) take the lead over mike (guitar) in majority of the jams, the sound they have been producing is straying away from the slower, funkier jams and to the "in your face" dance-rock. its clearly been the right move with all the hype theyve been receiving, albeit i personally miss mike rempel taking the lead on guitar and shredding everyone to pieces, but in order to evolve as a band youve gotta switch things up and it seems to be working for the time being
Yeah man. I've always loved Disco Biscuit shows because their music takes you everywhere. The Ups, Downs, Strange, Happy, Chillness, Fun, etc. Every time I see the biscuits they absolutley kill it lately as well.

Lotus is a band I have always loved to see but they always seemed to lack that ability to take me everywhere. They used to be more of just a groovy /funky jam band which was cool as shit, but didn't measure to the db for me. What I saw at All Good was a complete evolution of this band. So much more electronica implemented. The set had so much flow and energy to it. And similar to a Biscuits show, their music took me all over the place. I can't wait to see them at summerdance. This is definitley a band on the rise for sure...

Lotus and Biscuits best bands in the scene right now...
