Hi, I'm Anna and I currently split my time between Boston (where I'm majoring in journalism at Emerson College) and my hometown of Chicago. Music has always been a huge part of my life, but I first really got into electronic music after seeing Pretty Lights perform at Lollapalooza in 2011. Ever since then, I've been obsessed with finding the best new (and old) electronic songs and DJs.

Boys Noize – Starwin

Boys Noize – Starwin

It seems like this might be the summer of flashbacks in the EDM world. First there was the much-anticipated release of Random Access Memories by Daft Punk in late May, and now Boys Noize is bringing us even further back in time to the 70s with his new disco track Starwin. A single from the […]

A$AP Rocky – F**kin’ Problems (Crizzly Remix)

A$AP Rocky – F**kin’ Problems (Crizzly Remix)

Sometimes it seems like a lot of the trap songs out there are a variation of the same tune. While the genre has exploded in the past few months, there are only a handful of trap DJs I have come to trust to consistently put out unique songs. Crizzly is one of those select DJs […]

M.I.A. – Boyz (glAdiator Remix)

With the massive wave of trap remixes that have been springing up recently, it’s easy to overlook some of the really good ones out there. Luckily, glAdiator’s remix of Boyz by M.I.A. was not one of those tracks that slipped past us. Featured on a mixtape from rap legend Jay-Z’s Life + Times blog, the […]

Silent Strike – Deasupra

Silent Strike – Deasupra

Most people know me for my intense love of EDM, but what a lot of people don’t know is that I also have a serious passion for classical music. I’ve been playing the violin for 11 years now and that’s where a lot of my musical knowledge stems from, so whenever a track pops up […]

John Dahlbäck – Nuke

John Dahlbäck – Nuke

House DJ John Dahlbäck recently dropped a quick, one-and-a-half minute preview of his latest track Nuke and from what I heard, this song has the potential to become a massive festival banger. Nuke is the definition of a modern house hit, complete with a colossal build-up and an impressive drop. The song is by no […]

Pretty Lights – Around The Block featuring Talib Kweli

Pretty Lights – Around The Block featuring Talib Kweli

Trip Hop extraordinaire Pretty Lights just came out with a new single called Around The Block and, after more than a few listens, I’m going to make a rather grand assertion and say that it is one of his best songs yet. While the instrumentals are classic Pretty Lights (the song definitely doesn’t stray from […]

Chooky and ### – Uh-Oh

Chooky and ### – Uh-Oh

Indiana might not be the first place you’d think to look for the newest moombahton banger, but the up-and-coming duo ### (pronounced Pound Pound Pound) are here to prove otherwise with Uh-Oh, their latest track with Chooky. The heavy beats are a definite throwback to past moombahton tracks from the likes of Dillon Francis or […]

GRiZ – Gettin’ Live

GRiZ – Gettin’ Live

If you’re looking for an epic summertime anthem now that winter is finally retreating, then you’re definitely going to want to check out Gettin’ Live, the newest song from trip hop DJ GRiZ. GRiZ’s signature glitchy sound and slower bpm count really shine through on this track, making it the perfect fit for lazy summer […]

Jamie Lidell – What A Shame (RL Grime and Salva remix)

Jamie Lidell – What A Shame (RL Grime and Salva remix)

Trap stars RL Grime and Salva have teamed up on yet another sick remix that definitely lives up to the hype they got for their first remix of Kanye West’s Mercy last summer. This time, the two DJs looked for inspiration far from their preferred style of music and chose to remix What a Shame […]

Revolvr – Push

Revolvr – Push

If the beginning of Revolvr’s new song Push, which features a clip from the Comedy Central show Workaholics, makes you think that the rest of the song is going to be a joke, then you’re in for a pleasant surprise. Drawing on the hard-hitting dubstep qualities of DJs like Feed Me and Nero, Revolvr doesn’t […]
