Welp, the folks over at Madison House have done it again. Yesterday’s release of both weekends’ Electric Forest lineups have a LOT to get excited about, with a solid number of new names as well as a ton of EF alums.
Rufus Du Sol, who took over Electric Forest 2015 are back with performances on both weekends and their own curated stage titled, “Rufus and Friends” on Weekend Two. Deadmau5 will make an appearance as his techno alterego, Testpilot, on W2 as well with his own curated Mau5trap stage. The Desert Hearts crew is also set to make their Electric Forest debut with their own brand of house/techno/love party and a curated stage that will surely make for the best kinds of shenanigans.
New in 2018 will be the hair, attitude, and techno of Nicole Moudaber (Is it too late for an In the MOOD stage?), and in the same vein, Seth Troxler. On the house side of things, Anna Lunoe, Lane 8, and MK will make their return, and Totally Extinct Dinosaurs/TEED, Camelphat, and many more will be there for the first time.
I swear, I’ve looked over this lineup 20 times and I’m still finding new things to be excited about each time through. There’s even a few names like ZHU, who I’ve always sworn would be a great artist to play the Forest, that I get giddy about each time I see their name. The same goes for Washed Out, who are about as perfect for the Forest as they come, possibly the most sonic and idealistically matched indie band to come to the Forest since Passion Pit in 2014.
