Now up for free download, along with a “lyrical” video: Excision’s exhilarating 90 minute set from Shambhala Festival this summer.
This eclectic mix showcases the work of over 50 artists and exhibits a great deal of diversity among genres, if mostly within the category of bass music. But then again- what can one expect from the likes of Excision, whose affinity for bass remains largely unmatched in the world of electronic music.
The mix contains nineteen dubstep , fifteen drum and bass, thirteen drumstep, nine house, eight 110, three hardstyle, and nine trap tracks, whose employ drew criticism from the freaks and geeks out in the blogosphere.
Excision has since responeded to these detractors, suggesting they “listen to something else.” I must say, I agree. Trap may be the only break you get in an Excision mix.
