Easily the most underrated music festival in America, and consistently one of the best, Austin City Limits is returning for two weekends, October 4-6 and 11-13. The lineup, as usual, is stellar, with probably 5 or 6 acts that could headline lesser festivals. A quick scan offers some truly next-level acts: The Cure, Muse, and Phoenix, for starters. While this year has less of an electronic presence than years previous, artists like Atoms for Peace (check out their Essential Mix) and Kaskade are easily some of the top names in the world. And ACL doesn’t just have great headliners: this lineup is one of the largest I’ve seen, which means incredible depth at every level. In other words, Purity Ring and Paper Diamond, who would be near the top of most festival lineups, are about 10 lines down. And that’s not the end: All told, ACL has well over 100 acts. Due to the sheer number of performers, many local acts will only play one weekend, but the big-namers will be there for both. 3-day GA tickets are only $225, making ACL one of the most economical music festivals in America. Head to the official website to get a better look at the experience.

Daft Punk’s Alive 2007 introduced me to the world of electronic music, and ever since, it’s been a huge part of my life. I’m currently a philosophy student at UCSB, but music and shows are my passion. Thanks to EJ, I hope to share the magic of music with anyone interested.
