Texas techno label Pushing Red continue their run of absolutely top class releases with a tidy 12″ from Berlin based Martsman, a name that leftfield Drum & Bass connoisseurs may recognise from his releases for the likes of Warm Communications and Med School.

A side Shrank keeps things interesting with a chunky bassline and absolutely tons of shuffle; think the garage-infused house of George Fitzgerald with a ton of extra hi-hats and you’re halfway there. Over on the flip NYCD takes us to darker skanking territory with serious bass stabs and a slighty steadier drum beat layered over seriously atmospheric pads; this is the hypnotic sound of a 5am Berlin dancefloor and no mistake.

Fans of the sort of forward thinking, bass heavy house and techno that Boddika has been pushing for the last couple of years should definitely check this out. Check out the clips below and watch out for the release dropping early May.

Fell in love with Drum & Bass a few years ago and never looked back! I’ve been DJing around Glasgow for a few years (mostly as a resident at the monthly Symbiosis night) and producing for around a year now. Watch out for plenty more from me over the coming year! Check out my sounds at and my blog at
