Fred V and Grafix return to Hospital Records with their latest work in the form of the Goggles EP and it seems the boys have been busy diversifying their output. The title track moves away from their usual anthemic liquid into slightly darker territory, centred around a hefty sub line and skittering percussion lines. Simple but perfectly formed, this is warm, bassy, mid-set rhythm at it’s best.

Elsewhere on the release the duo explore more familiar stylistic output, bringing out their trademark uplifting melodic liquid on Games People Play and the sublimely understated Denmark Road, which brings to mind some of Blu Mar Ten’s soft, ethereal output. The EP closes out with a bit of a stomper in the form of Basilisk, opening up with soft, natural piano and guitar sounds before building into a synth-bass monster with a drop that will have the whole room jumping despite the half-tempo drum line.

Fell in love with Drum & Bass a few years ago and never looked back! I’ve been DJing around Glasgow for a few years (mostly as a resident at the monthly Symbiosis night) and producing for around a year now. Watch out for plenty more from me over the coming year! Check out my sounds at and my blog at
