When I was contacted by the artist known as Eagles & Butterflies, I was intrigued by his name alone. If you imagine the sound an eagle or butterfly makes when flapping (or fluttering) its wings, you think of something airy and light, almost delicate, but deliberated and calculated. That’s exactly what his music is.

His remix of Raining Again from Moby has such resounding beat that you feel in the center of your chest like you’re at a live show. The harmony of the overlapping synthesizers gives you a timeless feeling as if trapped in space, or perhaps the slow rhythm of grooving your sweaty body in a crowd.

This isn’t just dance music, this is make-your-soul-dance musc.

Check out their remix of Fiction by The XX which has even more of that feel-good funkiness. There’s a hint of 70′s swagger in the kick and snare. The smooth sensual vocals of Romy Madley Croft are just the icing on the cake.
