Datsik – Cold Blooded EP (Part 1)
Today marks the release of Datsik‘s ‘Cold Blooded EP (Part One)’ via his own Firepower Records. His last EP, Vitamin D, seemed to garner a lot of cliché hatred from folks who claim he’d “lost his way” or “forgotten his roots” using more mid and high-range sounds than we were used to. Personally, I just think that most of these fans don’t like it when their favorite artists try to do things a little differently than what initially appealed to them, and with those folks in mind, I’d like to share a bit of real-talk courtesy of Dave:
Either way, it seems Datsik has drawn a little inspiration from his earlier days with this EP, and all that comes to mind is, “Oh My Damn!” In tracks like ‘Juicebox’ and ‘Automatik’ you can clearly hear his focus has returned to the low-end that initially brought him into the spotlight.
