The Disco Biscuits – Mayan Holidaze, Tulum, Mexico (12/18/12)

The Disco Biscuits are one of the longest running electronica / jam bands, who have actually defined their own genre of music that fans commonly refer to as “trance fusion” – not to be confused with the Frank Zappa album, of course. The Disco Biscuits are in a small and unique category of artists such as Lotus and STS9 (among others) that have seemingly perfected the art of fusing electronically synthesized elements, hip hop, rock, and even jazz sounds.
The Biscuits’ performance at the 6th annual Mayan Holidaze celebrated the end of the Mayan calendar this year and was an event that many die hard fans were hoping to make it to. And for those who did, who in for a real treat. Other headlining acts included Umphree’s McGee and STS9.
